About me

Welcome, thank you for stumbling over my site

I am Susan Pilcher and I live on the Romney Marsh in the garden of England which has provided me a marvellous array of subject matter to photograph.

I have been interested in photography for over 30 years, I have worked my way through many camera types, 110, disk, 35mm with an Olympus OM10 printing and developing my own black and white photos and now the wonderful word of digital, currently with a Canon 6D and  70D camera with a full array of canon lens and for the cheeky shot my Canon Ixus which is with me all the time!

I mainly specialise in landscape and travel photography and am never happier than roaming around for hours with my camera, for the last 4 years i have also been the official photographer for the mayor of New Romney and also official photographer to the New Romney Country Fayre.

In 2017 I was very proud to be asked to supply images to Romney Marsh Rotary for their 2018 calendar which raised over £300 for local good causes.

In 2018 I return to JAM on the Marsh with a new exhibition continuing the night time theme which I have developing and refining my night photographs to involve unidentified objects, many created by myself, rather than featuring the Marsh’s most familiar landmarks.

In this exhibition I explore Romney Marsh by night using coloured lights, torches & steel wool to create breath-taking effects of orbs, steel wool spinning and light painting all under the stars of Romney Marsh.
